Hannah & Russ – Engagement Shoot – Attingham Park Shropshire

I met up with Hannah and Russ at the beautiful Attingham Park in Shropshire recently for their engagement shoot. It was a very cold day but it was bright and we managed to avoid the showers! We had a lovely time just wandering around the stunning grounds, chatting and laughing and getting some great shots. I am really looking forward to photographing Hannah and Russ’ wedding at the end of June at the fabulous Goldstone Hall in Shropshire… one of my favourite venues to photograph at!

Excella & Marcus’ Wedding – South Farm Hertfordshire – 1st April 2012

It was a beautiful sunny day for Excella and Marcus’ wedding which took place at the gorgeous South Farm in Hertfordshire. Excella wore the most stunning 1920s style headdress, a halter neck dress with a crystal decorated bodice and she carried a bouquet of calla lilies – she looked amazing! South Farm is a really pretty country house set in gorgeous grounds and it’s the perfect venue for a wedding. In the grounds are several beautifully ornate gypsy caravans which guests can stay in if they wish. Excella and Marcus had chosen a really original theme for their reception tables… each table was named after an author and a book title. Best wishes to Excella and Marcus for the future. It was such a beautiful wedding on a beautiful Spring day.

Packington Moor – Wedding Venue Lichfield, Staffordshire

Packington Moor is one of my favourite wedding venues and one that I have photographed at on many occasions – every one of them being so special to me as I am a local girl! I was so pleased to be asked to come along to their ‘Taster Evenings’ to photograph the couples who are being married at the venue this year as they sampled the food and wine before making their choices for their own wedding breakfasts. The food at Packington Moor is fantastic and it certainly must be a very difficult choice to make. It was such a lovely atmosphere on both evenings and I had chance to have a quick chat with quite a few of ‘my’ couples whose weddings I’ll be photographing at Packington Moor in the coming months!

Rebecca & James’ Wedding – 17th December 2011 – The Old School House, Lichfield

Rebecca and James’ beautiful wedding ceremony took place on the 17th December at St Paul’s Church in Little Aston and was followed by a reception at The Old School House in Weeford, near Lichfield. It had always been Rebecca’s dream to have a snowy backdrop to her Winter wedding, unfortunately we didn’t have any snow but it was certainly cold enough for it!

When I arrived at Rebecca’s house in the morning to photograph the bridal preparations all the girls were dressed in matching pyjamas…. so cute! Rebecca looked absolutely stunning in a beautifully fitted lace, backless dress and lacey shoes! Her bridesmaids wore gorgeous purple dresses and carried bouquets of white roses. All the beautiful bouquets and flower arrangements were supplied by Sophie at Entwined Flowers of Lichfield.

Being so close to Christmas Rebecca and James’ wedding had a festive theme with lots of candles, snowflakes and an amazing Christmas tree! The table names were all taken from the song “The Twelve Days of Christmas” which incidentally all the guests joined in together and sang! Rebecca and James had quite a surprise when during the serving of the meal several of the waiters suddenly burst into song! They were actually opera singers who had been booked by Rebecca’s parents to entertain the couple and their guests! A lovely Christmas wedding and best wishes to Rebecca and James for the future.

Bryony & James’ Wedding – The Ashes, Staffordshire – 11th December 2011

Bryony and James’ gorgeous Winter wedding took place on the 11th December at The Ashes in Staffordshire. It was a very cold, wet day but Bryony had her walking boots at the ready and nothing was going to deter her from venturing out into the grounds of the beautiful country house. Bryony and James were real troopers, it was so cold but you would never know it from the photographs!

Bryony looked amazing in a sparkly, beaded, lace dress and faux fur shrug and the most fabulous fuschia pink shoes! Her four bridesmaids wore gorgeous grey dresses and shrugs and carried bouquets of pink gerbras. The theme for Bryony and James’ wedding was of course a Winter one, with mistletoe and decorative snowflakes everywhere and lots of fairy lights, cranberry scented candles and mulled wine!

A beautiful wedding for such a fabulous couple!

Elizabeth & Noel’s Wedding, Stratford-upon-Avon – 29th October 2011

When Elizabeth and Noel booked me to be their photographer and told me of their plans for their wedding I couldn’t wait for their big day to arrive. Elizabeth and Noel both work for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust so it was only fitting that they should marry in Stratford-upon-Avon and celebrate their wedding with their friends and family on the banks of the River Avon. Following a beautiful marriage ceremony the happy couple and their guests travelled to a gorgeous ‘chocolate box’ cottage owned by friends where a yurt had been erected in the gardens. The yurt had been beautifully decorated with lots of paper lanterns, candles and pitchers of wild flowers and amazingly most of the decorations both in the yurt and the church were done by Elizabeth – what a talented lady! This was such a lovely, relaxed and beautifully intimate wedding day…..everything that Elizabeth and Noel wanted. Congratulations and best wishes for the future. xxx

Jane & Mark’s Wedding – Great Central Railway – 22nd October 2011

Jane and Mark’s wedding was certainly something a little different from all the others that I have photographed this year! The day started quite traditionally with a beautiful marriage service in a gorgeous church in Derby but then it was all aboard a vintage double decker bus as we made our way to the reception. Jane and Mark are great “foodies” and they decided that there would be nothing nicer than to have their wedding breakfast at their favourite restaurant in a picturesque Derbyshire village. After a sumptuous meal we all boarded the bus again and headed for the Great Central Railway station in Loughborough in Leicestershire. Visiting the Loughborough station is like stepping back in time to the early 1900s! Volunteers are painstakingly restoring the station to its former glory and it was wonderful to see the work they have done. Jane and Mark had privately hired a steam train to take us all on a journey through the Leicestershire countryside before returning to Loughborough station later in the evening. It was a great experience for us all and especially for their little 3 year old son Alex who just loves trains – I had a lovely chat with him all about Thomas the Tank Engine – I have my younger brother to thank for my knowledge of Thomas – I had to sit through hours and hours of videos when we were little! It was a wonderful day and I’d like to thank Jane, Mark and all their friends and family for making me feel so welcome. xxx

Penni & Andy’s Wedding Packington Moor 8th October 2011

Spending the day photographing the beautiful wedding of Penni and Andy at Packington Moor near Lichfield was a very welcome break for me from the hustle and bustle of the National Wedding Show at the NEC (many thanks to Gill, Louisa and Mike for manning the stand for me for the day!) The day started early for me as I was photographing Penni and her bridesmaids at Anthony John Hairdressers at Swinfen and then it was back to Packington Moor for the final bridal preparations. Packington Moor is such a fabulous venue to photograph at as there are so many gorgeous scenic backdrops to use and whatever time of year I’m there it always looks stunning – I’m pleased to say that I’ll be back there photographing several more weddings again next year!

Penni looked amazing in her strapless lace gown with gorgeous crystal embellished bodice, which was set off beautifully with a simple string of pearls and a hand tied bouquet in pinks and purples. Her three bridesmaids wore stunning purple gowns and they carried bouquets which complimented the colours in Penni’s beautiful bouquet. The flowers for Penni and Andy’s wedding were just gorgeous – each table had a stunning centrepiece and all these fabulous flower arrangements and bouquets were from Entwined Flowers of Lichfield. Penni and Andy chose a vintage theme for their wedding and as most regular blog followers will know, it’s one of my favourite themes and it’s certainly one that suits Packington Moor’s beautiful setting. Congratulations Penni and Andy and best wishes for the future! xxx

Nicky & Ben’s Wedding – Paphos, Cyprus 19th September 2011

Nicky and Ben were married on the beautiful island of Cyprus and I was lucky enough to be asked to fly over to photograph their wedding! Nicky wore a stunning strapless wedding dress and she carried a bouquet of white cala lillies – she looked amazing! Nicky and Ben travelled in convertable mercedes to Paphos Harbour where the truly impressive yacht where their wedding was to take place was moored. After the wedding ceremony we had a short break for photographs on the harbour side and then we set sail for a cruise along the coast! Nicky and Ben were joined in Cyprus by lots of their friends and family and I was treated just like a guest rather than their photographer – they were all so kind and considerate! Nicky, Ben and their families made me feel so welcome – they were such a great group and we all had such a fabulous time onboard the yacht. The weather was so hot (approx 39 degrees!) and it was so nice to get out to sea and enjoy the breeze and take in the views of the stunning coastline. In the evening we sailed back towards Paphos and the guests were treated to a surprise firework display! It was a wonderful end to a wonderful day and I would like to thank Nicky and Ben for booking me to photograph their beautiful wedding! Lots of love to you both xxx

Vicky & Anton’s Wedding – The Curradine Barns – 10th September 2011

Vicky and Anton were married in their local church which is literally at the end of the drive to The Curradine Barns in Worcestershire where their reception was held. Vicky and her father walked to the church and then after the ceremony everyone was able to just walk down the driveway to the barns! It was really lovely for everyone to be able to share in the celebrations as we all walked together to the reception! Vicky looked absolutely amazing! Her dress was so pretty – really floaty and elegant and she wore a gorgeous veil and headress. The Curradine Barns is such a fabulous venue and it looked beautiful decked out with all the decorations and accessories for the vintage theme of Vicky and Anton’s wedding.

It was another very wet and windy day and we had to make a quick dash outside into the grounds to take Vicky and Anton’s couple shots when there was a lull in the rain showers. But the weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of everyone celebrating with Vicky and Anton – we all had a fabulous time! The guests were entertained with live music throughout the day and evening and there was even a photo-booth to add to the fun (hence the shot of Vicky and Anton in cowboy hats!) Vicky has been such an avid fan of my blog and facebook page and I really hope that she and Anton keep in touch! Lots of love to you both and best wishes for the future!
